About

Built to show you what is there.

PrivyClean is a Mac and iPhone app for inspecting and removing hidden metadata from photos and documents before you share them.

Who built it

PrivyClean is built and maintained by Wiktor Tendera — a software engineer and product manager with over ten years of industry experience.

I studied Computer Science at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, a programme focused on algorithms, data structures, and the mathematical foundations of computing. After graduating I worked as a software engineer across several product teams, eventually joining Revolut in 2019.

At Revolut I first built internal tools for business users and compliance teams as a frontend engineer, then moved into product management. As Senior Product Manager for Security and FinCrime at Revolut Business, I led the product area responsible for security infrastructure, financial crime prevention, and regulatory compliance. That work meant daily exposure to how data leaks, metadata exposure, and poorly handled documents create real-world privacy and compliance risk.

PrivyClean came out of a frustration I kept running into: most metadata-removal tools either require you to upload your files to a cloud server — which is the problem, not the solution — or strip fields blindly without showing you what was there. I wanted a tool that inspects first, explains the risk, and only then exports a clean copy, entirely on your device.

Why the content on this site is reliable

The guides on C2PA, EU AI Act compliance, EXIF data, and PDF metadata are written from direct technical experience and several years of working with compliance, security, and identity teams at a regulated financial institution. The goal is accurate, practical information — not keyword padding.
