PrivyClean privacy policy.
Last updated: November 22, 2025.
PrivyClean is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how PrivyClean collects, uses, and protects information when you use the app and interact with the marketing site.
1. Data collection
PrivyClean does not upload or send your files to a server for cleaning. Core cleaning happens locally on your device. The app may temporarily access file metadata so it can show you what is embedded before you export a cleaned copy.
- PrivyClean does not collect or store file contents on a remote server.
- PrivyClean does not collect personal data such as names, emails, or location outside your device for the core cleaning workflow.
- If analytics or crash reporting are added, they should never include user file contents.
2. User control
PrivyClean is built around visibility and user choice. You can preview metadata before cleaning, choose what to remove and what to keep, and review warnings for non-removable or risky metadata.
3. Liability disclaimer
PrivyClean strives to remove as much metadata as possible, but some information may remain depending on file structure, document integrity constraints, or risky embedded content such as comments or revision history.
- PrivyClean does not guarantee that all metadata will be removed from every file.
- Users are responsible for verifying files before sharing them.
- PrivyClean disclaims liability for damages or consequences resulting from metadata that remains in a file after cleaning.
4. Security
All cleaning is intended to happen locally on-device. Optional password-protected ZIP archives may be used for additional security during sharing.
